3 Types of Sanitary Butterfly Valves

A Quick Look at These Three Types of Sanitary Butterfly Valve.
Sanitary Butt Welded Butterfly Valve, Sanitary Thread Butterfly Valves and Sanitary Flange Butterfly Valves.

Sanitary Butt Welded Butterfly Valve

The Sanitary Butt Welded Butterfly Valves are triple offset structure and suitable for high temperature, high pressure, corrosion, etc. Its are quarter-turn valves which are used for isolating or regulating flow. They are favored for being lighter in weight, requiring less support and are suitable for water and gas, which makes them useful across industrial, mining and power applications.

The butt-weld butterfly valve has various advantages such as good sealing performance, convenient operation, and quick opening and closing. They have no flanges, making the pipes more elegant and easy to bind together. These valves feature a triple offset elasticity or multi-layer hard sealing configuration, and the hard-sealed configuration for reliable sealing performance. The sealing of the disc can be replaced by loosening the coil bolts, saving the cost of the valve. In addition, there are annular bosses at the inlet and outlet of the valve, which is beneficial to the heat absorption and diffusion of the valve and pipe welding.

Sanitary Thread Butterfly Valves

The Sanitary Threaded Butterfly Valves have threaded inserts on both sides of the valve body, allowing them to be installed between two flanges. This permits either side of the piping system to be disconnected without disrupting the other side. The threaded connectors eliminate the need for flanges on this high-quality butterfly valve.

Adamant’s Sanitary Threaded Butterfly Valves with Pull Handle is constructed from 316 Stainless Steel with a 32Ra ID/OD polish. Flange / Flanged is available with your choice of end connection.

They are ideal for use in food or drink processing and other clean service applications. All of Adamant’s products include an ISO 5211 mounting pad for the direct mounting of actuators. Direct mount eliminates the need for extra space, weight, and cost. A full range of accessory items is available including pneumatic and electric actuators, limit switches, solenoid valves, and manual override devices.

Sanitary Flange Butterfly Valves

Reserved for water and suitable for high pressure, the Sanitary Flanged Butterfly Valve has double eccentricity and a watertight joint located in the disc of the butterfly. This type of valves has the following advantages:

Durability: when open, the butterfly valve gains durability because the compression point is absent.

Ease of use: The butterfly valve is extremely simple to use thanks to its push-in butterfly joint, which does not require any adjustment.

Flexibility: this watertight push-in joint acts like an autoclave; the higher the service pressure is, the more watertight the valve becomes, irrespective of the direction of the flow of fluid over time. It holds longer than the joint by minimizing the constraints it is subjected to. Its flexibility allows a reduction of the closing torque by deformation and when it comes alongside the seat it ensures constant torque.

High performance: the double eccentricity means that the joint can free itself completely from the seat at the start of the opening movement, thereby minimizing friction between the rubber and seat.
